HOMELESS EDUCATION INFORMATION
If your family lives in any of the following conditions, your school-age children may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act: in a shelter, motel or campground due to the lack of an alternative adequate accommodation, in a car, park, abandoned building, bus or train station, or doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship.

Learn more about opportunities that are available for homeless students.

PARENT INFORMATION ON MTSS/RTI
Parents and Guardians: All students who are not meeting grade level expectations are given assistance through a Multi-Tiered System of Support. The level of support increases as needed from in class small group instruction; to more intense support in a smaller group, or for a greater period of time within the school week; to ESE services for those who are recommended as needing more than what can be provided with supports in a general education setting, and who meet criteria for Exceptional Student Education. Here are links to brochures, as well as a link to common reading strategies and games you can use with your child. If you have any questions regarding the level of support your child may need or is receiving, please contact your child's teacher.
ANTI-BULLYING TRAINING ON BRAINSHARK
Parents/Guardians: In keeping with Broward Schools Anti-Bullying Policy 5.9, all SRE staff and students have viewed the appropriate Anti-Bullying Training Brainshark. As parents, you are also encouraged to view the Parent Training Brainshark. Please use the link below to access the Brainshark Training. You will be asked to sign in and select SBBC. More information can be found on the Brain Shark website.
PRIMARY DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
All students being dismissed from the Primary dismissal side will all be dismissed from the North exit only.

This means that:
  • Students that are meeting someone to either walk home or go to a car waiting on the north side of the school (36th street) will stay within the white-chained area and exit the campus at dismissal. We are asking parents to not park in the parking lot on the East side of the school and walk up to the dismissal area and walk their child back to the car. This is very dangerous and we are concerned about anyone walking through the car rider traffic.
  • If your child is a car rider, and you drive through the parking lot and pick them up, the students will also exit the school through the North exit and be escorted around to the car rider area – the same area we have always used.
  • If a student is a bike rider, they will also exit the school through the North exit, with all other students, but will be able to go to the bike rack and retrieve their bike.
