 Welcome back and Happy New Year!!! Hopefully your vacation and holidays were full of fun and relaxation. Thank you from all of us for all the goodies that were sent to the office. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of all those treats.
Well, the partying is over! It is time for all of us to get back to work. This is crunch time. That means that we review our current levels of performance, make adjustments and stay very focused on where students need toe at this time of year. Mid-year progress monitoring checks are set for students in Kindergarten through fifth. This is a good time to check with your child’s teacher to be sure their performance is commensurate with the expectations of their grade level. Students should be using Destination Reading or Math as assigned by their teachers. Students in third, fourth and fifth grade should be using FCAT Explorer nightly.
Our goal is to maximize the success of each student. Each grade level is developing a plan for students who need extra assistance. Additionally, FCAT Supersessions for select intermediate students will begin on January 12th. Parents of fourth and fifth graders, it is very important for you to know what your child’s FCAT level was in the spring of 2009. We will be having Data chats with our fourth and fifth graders to review progress and identify goals for this year. Together we can get this important job done! Have a good week.
